Your views really matter to us. By listening to local people and those who represent them, we can improve the decisions we make and make sure we meet the health needs of Kirklees residents.
Within this section you’ll find out how we enable local people to have their say and contribute to plans and decisions about health services in Kirklees. There’s also information about how you can get involved in this work.
The feedback we receive from local people, patients and service users is part of our decision-making process and contributes to the improvement of healthcare services.

Healthwatch Kirklees
Healthwatch provides a way for local people to communicate, challenge and shape the decisions of commissioners and service providers in health and social care. Healthwatch Kirklees also helps us to learn more about patient experiences of local services and they often support our work by gathering views on service change proposals.
Care Opinion
If you’ve experienced healthcare recently, either as a patient or as a carer or friend of someone else, please tell us how it was. Your story will be handled confidentially by the non-profit service Care Opinion. Your story may appear (without your name) on their website. For more information about Care Opinion and how your story is handled, visit the Care Opinion website.
Friends and Family Test
The Friends and Family Test is the way the NHS aims to give patients the opportunity to feed back their views of the care or treatment they have received. This helps hospitals, GP practices and community services to engage with patients, celebrate areas of good practice and target areas for improvement. You can find more information on the NHS website.
